 | 375428 | Nov 27, 2005 10:19am | | I'm noticing I'm in both the "Anime & Manga" group and the "Otaku" group. This seems somewhat redundant to me. What's the difference between being someone who likes anime/manga, an anime enthusiast, and an otaku? |

| Seolyk | Dec 15, 2005 12:59pm | well back before I watched subbed anime people said I wasnt an otaku, because I watched dubbed stuff.
The word Otaku literally means residence, but is used in Japan to refer to geeks and nerds... so maybe an otaku is someone who is an obsessive fan that does nothing but collect anime stuff and cosplay?
if thats true... then I need to leave this group |

I don't have any single Manga in my home and I look hundsome.. :P etc [I am not stereotypical otaku] , but I consider myself a otaku...
I guess there is a degree of otaku-ness ...
I think this site will clarify that: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Otakus [en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Otakus]
Or maybe I am not otaku...
I just like to see Anime as any entertainment... |
